Valentine's Day

Today went target shooting. It was a fun time. DH cooked a lovely spaghetti dinner similar to the first one we had nine years ago.

Am extremely pleased that the NCAA has banned displays on eye black. No numbers, letters, logos, symbols.

I have clean laundry.

Tragedy

Okay, so I'm very bothered by the recent shootings at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. The details being revealed about the shooter are frighteningly similar to me. I am a female scientist (graduate) in chemical biology, suffer from mental illness, and own handguns. I have aspirations for an academic career, but am a little scared of it now from the course evaluations I got as a TA. I kind of did not have such a problem with them, I know how heartless students can be on evals, and one must take comments with a grain of salt.

Bottom line: I'm depressed, but not stupid.
